Blue Hackle Dinner

The Blue Hackle Dinner is a fund raising event sponsored by the Foundation to permit it to assist the Regiment in the performance of its duties over the coming years during which it will be tasked on many occasions celebrating events in both Canada’s and the Regiment’s history.

The dinner will be a traditional formal highland dining-in as follows:

Time:         18:00 for 19:30 hrs
Dress:        Gentlemen: Mess Kit, Black Tie, or Highland Formal Ladies: Formal
Location:   Cartier Square Drill Hall (home of the Regiment since 1879)

Proceeds from the evening will allow the Foundation to continue its support of the Regiment. In particular, the Regiment will be tasked with many commemorative events in the coming years which are important both in Canadian as well as Regimental history:

  • 100th anniversary of the battle for Vimy Ridge
  • Canada Day 2017
  • 100th anniversary of the end of WWI
  • 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings
  • 75th anniversary of the liberation of France and Holland
  • 100th anniversary of becoming the Ottawa Highlanders, Ottawa’s own Regiment
